Kent graduated from both Yale and Harvard with a BA in East Asian Studies from Yale, a Masters in Education from Harvard and a PhD from the University of Minnesota in Education.  In the Clinton administration he served as the White House Fellow assigned to the Director of Central Intelligence.  He also served as Special Adviser to the Deputy Secretary of State and as Special Assistant to the U.S Deputy Secretary of Education. In our St. Paul Public Schools he served as Executive Director of Research and Development and at the University of Minnesota as founding Executive Director of College Readiness Consortium.  He has taught at the high school level here and at the college level in China.  He now is the President and CEO of Search Institute.
