Oak Grove, MN

Join us as we transform an 11-acre old field into a wildlife haven by planting 2000 bare-root shrubs and trees: bur oak, cherry, hazelnut, plum and chokeberry. Cedar Creek Conservation Area is a new crown jewel of the Anoka County Parks system featuring a broad array of native landscapes including wetlands and emergent marshes, woodlands, planted prairie, and over two miles of shoreline on the Rum River and Cedar Creek.

Ike’s Creek Restoration
Saturday, April 27th, 8:30am – 12:30pm
Bloomington, MN
Volunteers: 100 Supervisors: 10
Ike’s Creek is one of only six trout streams in the Twin Cities Metro area and is adjacent to the largest urban National Wildlife Refuge in the country, the Minnesota Valley NWR. The stream hosts a restored native Minnesota brook trout population. Volunteers will remove undesirable plant species and seed wildflowers & grasses, improving both upland terrestrial and aquatic habitat.
