                              Any of the Short Novels/Stories Collections, that include: Benito Cereno, Bartleby the Scrivener, Billy Budd.

                              Numerous collections contain much more worth reading, my copy has Poems of the Civil War, and Other Poems.

                              Several times I have encountered the passage "I would prefer not to" in national publications. 

                              These are a great read, novels and poems, and as it happens is the 200th anniversary birthdate of Melville.

Noteworthy, the Classic Fiction Book Club has expanded to include non-classics and non-fiction and is now called the Harvard Book Club.
