CEO Series: Andy Cantwell at Carlson Private Capital
Andy Cantwell has recently transitioned from traditional Private Equity to leading the Family Office for the Carlson Family. Join us to hear Andy's views on Private Equity versus a Family Office structure and his approach to leadership.
Andy launched the Carlson Private Capital platform for the Carlson family in late 2018. CPC specializes in investing in family and entrepreneur-owned businesses looking to bring on an investor, often for the first time. CPC also works with management teams looking to transition from private equity ownership to a longer-term investor or an experienced management team looking to acquire businesses in their legacies industries. Since its launch, Carlson has invested in 4 platforms and 5 add-on acquisitions.
Andy has spent over twenty-five years as an investor in the private investment industry; primarily focused on private equity and family capital investing. Prior to leading Carlson Private Capital, Andy was Partner at a middle market private equity firm headquartered in Minneapolis that has raised over $7.0 billion in capital. Andy has worked closely with founders, management teams and served on numerous boards of private companies across a variety of industries including industrial, distribution, consumer, building products, and business and tech-enabled services. Andy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his M.B.A from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
