Gordon Parks: Invisible Man and Segregation Story, Weinstein Gallery

Gallery talk followed by wine and cheese reception
Harvard Club members $5; non-members $10. Limited to 25.

Join Harvard Club of Minnesota members for a guided tour of Gordon Parks: Invisible Man and Segregation Story, two bodies of work by the internationally-celebrated photographer Gordon Parks. The gallery talk will be followed by a wine and cheese reception. Parks’s Invisible Man series includes photographs from a collaboration with the writer Ralph Ellison. These photographs accompanied an essay published in Life Magazine in 1952, to promote Ellison’s novel Invisible Man. The groundbreaking series “Segregation Story” documents life in the Jim Crow era, and consists of over 20 color photographs portraying intimate everyday moments in the segregated South.

May 14 is the closing day of the Gordon Parks exhibit at the Weinstein Gallery: don’t miss this chance to see these evocative works by the pre-eminent American photojournalist and artist Gordon Parks.
