Please join us for an enlightening discussion with two leading experts on environmental policy, Buzz Thompson, Stanford BA '72 and JD/MBA '76, and Jessica Hellman, Stanford Ph.D. 2000. Buzz and Jessica have graciously volunteered to give a presentation to the Stanford alumni group and TCAN members; the presentation will be a forward-looking talk on climate impacts, adaptation, and policy, and will include discussion of some possible solutions.

Barton "Buzz" Thompson is a leading expert in environmental and natural resources law and policy. He has contributed a large body of scholarship on environmental issues ranging from the future of endangered species and fisheries to the use of economic techniques for regulating the environment. He is the founding director of the Stanford law school's Environmental and Natural Resources Program, Perry L. McCarty Director and senior fellow of the Woods Institute for the Environment, and a senior fellow (by courtesy) at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. Buzz Thompson Bio

Jessica Hellmann is the director of the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota. She is also the Russell M. and Elizabeth M. Bennett Chair in Excellence in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior in the College of Biological Sciences.
